Thanksgiving Topic Talk

November 19, 2019August 3, 2022 Post a comment

I’m a big fan of “topic talk”, where, generally, I pose a questions, and my students practice, in a structured setting, asking questions, answering them, asking for more information, listening, and making comments.  There is so much to teach!

I’m also a big fan of activities that I can use with all of my students.  At the beginning of the year, I used these Back to School/Getting to know you questions with every single student and group I had.  As I mention in the product and post, I use it in a variety of ways-in a sticky ball game, Jenga, with poppers, or by just picking one!

It was so easy and adaptable that I vowed to create more, so I just added another to my TPT store here (or with the original in a bundle).  It includes 20 Thanksgiving/being thankful and kind questions geared toward kids.  Some years kids have even asked to bring this home to use. 🙂

Whether or not you use this product, I think Thanksgiving is a perfect time for our students to practice these skills that they were certainly be putting to use at their holiday tables!
