New School Psych Advice

School Psychologist organization for the New Year!

December 30, 2018November 7, 2019 1 comment

Is one of your goals for 2019 to get organized?  I’ve had success so far this year with my goal of getting organized.  Here are some of my favorite tools to get organized in school!

work for today bin

I started this “work for today” bin that I keep on my table for small group and individual sessions.  I prep it the day before or the morning of, and it saves me so much time by not having to scramble for what I need!

weekly planning sheet

I also started using this planning sheet for planning my counseling and social skills sessions the week before.  Planning ahead really does save time!

I shared in this post the tool I have been using for years to organize my special education assessments.

school psych scores

I put together a “cheat sheet” of my most used score descriptors to use when writing assessments.

I got rid of paper master copies of all my activities and started using google drive to save everything.

organization forms

I created forms to use (and share!) for meeting notes, a communication log, important dates, and more!

I used this SO SIMPLE to create shelf markers to organize my books- and now I finally know what I have!

Happy New Year, and enjoy the rest of your relaxation time!

First, I love your blog!! Second, I was wondering if you had any executive functioning resources? I am starting an executive functioning group for 4 first graders next week, and was wondering if you had any helpful tips, resources, or insights? Thanks so much!!
