Social Emotional Learning At A Distance

March 19, 2020August 3, 2022 Post a comment

Hi guys.  Well, how did we get here so fast?  Things are changing by the hour, and it’s difficult to keep up.  Many of our districts are now making the change from short term academic breaks, to “distance learning”.  It’s complicated for teachers.  But what about us?

There are lots of questions to be answered and things to be figured out.  For now though, I have started to compile resources I use:  some that I’ve created, some that others have, that might be helpful for distance learning.

Parents are overwhelmed, no doubt.  So to start small, I came up with some dinner “topic talk” questions to share.

I also came up with some quick ideas for certain topics that parents or counselors/psych/sw’s can work with.

Click here to grab these to pass along.  Add things if you want.

Finally, I have embraced, love, and hated Google Classroom in the past few weeks.  Though lots of excitement, tears, and house of work, I have come up with a system for reaching my counseling caseload right now.  I am doing some live sessions, but weekly, I send them a google slide activity. I’ve shared versions of everything I’ve created.  Let me know if you guys use it, or have anything to share!
